VAMPIR Classes List

VAMPIR gives you five classes and no healer or support among them, so choosing a class is choosing a range, a weapon and the content you want to be good at.

Each one deals damage and keeps itself alive with Blood Calling, the Drain skill every class carries, which hits for 150% and heals 200% of attack plus 300 HP.

Three of them fight up close: Bloodstained with a blood sword, Akasha with tonfas and Grim Reaper with a scythe, at 2.5 to 3 m. Carnage shoots from 8.5 m and Viper casts from 9 m. Range matters more than the numbers suggest. From the Bezdan chapters onward, melee classes push the main quest further, while the two ranged classes do better farming zones a little below their power.

You can make three characters on a server, and they share Diamonds, Bloodshapes, mounts and Progeny, so a second class costs time rather than a second wallet. Changing your main is harder: it opens only in announced windows, needs level 60 and costs 2,000 Diamonds, plus Class Change Proofs for any Legendary weapon or Bloodshape you bring along. Pick the class you want to be playing at 60.

Each card below shows where the class sits on our PvE and PvP lists and what it does best. If you are torn between two, the class picker sorts all five by what you plan to play.

How we rank the classes

VAMPIR has five classes and no healer or support among them. Every class deals damage and keeps itself alive with the shared Drain skill and lifesteal, so the question here is not who fills which role. It is which class gets the most out of the content you plan to play, and that splits cleanly into two lists.

The PvE list weighs three things: how fast a class clears packs while hunting, how much damage it puts on a boss, and how safely it runs on its own in Offline Mode or Support Mode, where every death costs EXP. The PvP list weighs 1v1 duels, 5v5 Arena and the clan wars of War of Occupation and Skirmish, where each clan fields 20 players. A class can sit high on one list and low on the other, and two of them do.

Both lists judge the current kits at equal gear, checked on the 21 October patch, which changed no class or skill. A well-geared class one band lower will still beat an under-geared one above it.

Which class is best for you

In PvE, Viper and Bloodstained share the top band for different reasons. Viper's poison skills hit groups, and its Body Decay passive adds 12% damage against poisoned targets, so each skill it lands sets up the next. That makes it the fastest class on packs. Bloodstained is the safest class to leave hunting: Blood Rage heals for 40% of the damage it deals and Blood Moon's Protection cuts incoming damage by 25%, so it can stay in zones other classes leave at the same power. It kills more slowly, which is why it shares the band instead of owning it.

In PvP, Akasha is the class to beat. Blood Rush gives it three dash charges, Absorbing Touch steals part of the target's attack, and Absolute Liberation cleanses every debuff and can be cast while stunned. It starts fights where it wants and walks out of the crowd control that settles most duels. Grim Reaper matches it one on one, but its damage bonus against low-HP targets matters less in a crowd, so it drops in group fights.

Playing free? Start with Bloodstained or Viper: both hold up without spending, and the free-to-play section below says why.

The two classes in between

Carnage is S in PvE and A in PvP, and the class for players who want to play by hand. It shoots from 8.5 m and its damage climbs with distance, but it has no damage-resistance skill of its own, so it is the weakest class in long fights where the boss keeps hitting.

Grim Reaper is the split one. It is B in PvE because it farms slowest of the five, yet on a short boss fight Shadow Infiltration's Death Mark detonates 60% of the damage dealt inside it, and nothing hits harder in that window. In PvP it moves up to A, carried by duels.

Best classes for free-to-play

Without spending, Bloodstained and Viper are the two safe starts. Bloodstained rarely dies, and that matters more for a free player, because only five EXP recoveries a day are free. Viper farms groups well and still has a job in clan fights later on.

Akasha and Grim Reaper are the two to avoid as a first free character. Akasha's PvP lead needs heavy investment before it shows, and Grim Reaper is the weakest class at farming, which slows down everything a free player earns.

If you plan to spend

Carnage gains the most from spending, because its damage runs on critical hits: The Hunt Begins adds 40% critical damage rate and Exploitation adds 10% critical rate, so crit gear multiplies a kit already built around them. Bloodstained gains the least, since a large share of its skills buy damage resistance rather than damage.

What will change next

A class balance pass is planned for November, aimed at lifting weak skills to the average and giving unused skills a reason to be cast, and a sixth class is in preparation. This list will be re-ranked when the pass lands, and every class page will say which patch it was checked on. This is the first version of the list.
